What was happening
A DTC skincare brand was spending $18K a month on Meta ads at a 1.8x return on ad spend. The founder couldn’t see why the account was underperforming.
What needed to change
Find what was holding the account back and improve the return on the existing budget.
What had been overlooked
The budget was split across eleven audiences that hadn’t been reviewed since launch. Half overlapped, and a pixel event was firing on the wrong page.
What I changed
- Consolidated eleven audiences into three to remove the fragmented account structure.
- Rebuilt creative testing around a two-week cadence, replacing ad-hoc swaps.
- Corrected the pixel event so it fired on the right page.
A simpler account. A deliberate testing rhythm.

What changed for the business
ROAS moved from 1.8x to 3.4x in six weeks, on the same $18K monthly spend.
The diagnosis behind the result
The account didn’t need more ads. It needed someone to revisit the structure that had been left untouched since launch.
Before you spend more, check what your ads are learning.
When the return on your ads falls, it’s tempting to increase the budget or order another batch of creative. Here, eleven audiences and a misplaced pixel event meant the account structure needed attention first. More spend would have left those problems in place.
Auditing the audiences, event tracking and testing rhythm gave each change a reason. The founder could work on the account’s weak points instead of paying to keep guessing.
Your store is getting clicks. Where are the orders?
Whether you’re preparing your first campaign or already spending every month, I can help review the path from ad to purchase. We’ll look at what your account is measuring, where the budget is going and what to test next, before deciding that a bigger budget is the answer.
